A look back in time...

Okay, I was fiddling around with some of the pictures that I took of Dylan after his baby blessing and I decided to share them since I hadn't started my blog when I took these pictures. Let's face it, it's also to brag about what an adorable little boy I have. Sorry, I had to be honest. While I'm at it I definitely think I took WAY better pictures than the ones I had taken at Sears (I will NEVER go there again). Oh well, you live and you learn. Now I know to just go to Portrait Innovations Anyhow, these are my top three favorites of my sweetie who is sooo much bigger these days. Enjoy!Dylan's smiley pose.

Doesn't he look like like he fell down straight from heaven. I LOVE this one!

Lastly, the pouty look. He got into this position all on his own. What a natural!

My Bernina

Okay, I wanted to show off my new toy. For Christmas, as my big present, I got a sewing machine. But after fiddling around with it numerous times I could never get the darn thing to work. Here is a picture of the sewing machine I got for Christmas.

So, I was pretty frustrated. I went by and upgraded to a Bernina, and I LOVE IT!!!! Here is a picture of my new sewing machine.

My first project was to cover some pillows for my couch I am inheriting. I was so lucky to have my Mom help me out. Here is a before picture of the pillow.

Now here is the after.

I felt so proud of myself to be so crafty. I love the fabric that I picked out. My next project is to sew the valance out of this fabric for my window treatment.

Keeping busy

I just wanted to give a quick update on the happenings of the week so far. While packing I have been putting away Dylan's clothes that he has grown out of. I find his cowboy wear and squeezed it on for one last photo shoot. I am so sad to see it go. I think his cowboy outfits were one of my all time favorites.

On Monday I went over to my parents house and cut my niece, Katelyn's hair. I'm not talking about just a trim, we totally cut it off. They're going to donate it. She was pretty good, but after having so much attention and having to sit still for so long she was definitely over it. I never got a picture after it was all said and done because she was so not in the mood.

Here is a cute picture of Katelyn and Dylan playing together, before the haircut.

Lorna's Bridal and Formalwear

I am so excited! I talked to the Laurels in my Young Women's program about going to my Mom's bridal shop to look at dresses for the upcoming Atlanta area LDS prom. Thank goodness there's a place close by to buy modest bridal/formal dresses. My Mom's shop is where I bought my wedding dress almost two years ago when it was under a different ownership. Now my Mom is the owner, and it is located in an adorable space in downtown Loganville. The Laurels are all so excited to try on dresses. It's funny because I am so excited too!

Check out her website at http://www.lornasbridal.com/. I will try to take some pictures of the girls and post them later.

By the way I'm giving props to Kara on creating this beautiful flier. Doesn't it look nice?!

Happy Love Day!

I just wanted to take a moment to say how much I love the two men in my life, Isaac and Dylan. This morning Isaac surprised me with a wonderful breakfast. It was funny because I was planning on doing the same thing for him. He always is so thoughful and trys to make me feel special always. He is so romantic. When we were dating I told him that the man that asked to marry me had to do it in a special way, and if I didn't like it, I would tell him no and make him do it over again. Isaac stepped up to the plate with a wonderful day that I will never forget. He took me to Piedmont Park in downtown Atlanta. He planned a wonderful picnic for me with all of my favorites such as chocolate covered strawberries, cream puffs, grapes, cheese, etc. We then walked around a little bit to familiarize ourselves with the park. At the close of our date, he had an early birthday present for me (one of my stipulations was that I could not be proposed to on my birthday or any major holiday). I have to admit that I was kind of expecting a ring, but instead it was a glass bottle with a scoll inside. How sweet, a message in a bottle. I opened it up and read a beautiful poem that he had written for me. At the very end he asked to marry me. He got down on his knee and presented me with the ring that I had fallen in love with, but thought I would not get. I was so surprised to see the ring that I reached for it before I ever gave him an answer. This was one of the best days of my life and is just an example of what a wonderful husband I have. I love you sweetheart!!!

Dylan is my other love. I can't believe how much love I feel for him. I am so blessed to be his Mommy. He is so sweet and so funny. I know he loves me and Isaac so much too. It is funny to watch him follow me around the house as I am trying to get things done. I love it how when he has a boo boo he just loves to be cuddled and comforted by his Mommy or Daddy. I love to watch him grow, and it seems like everyday is a new adventure. I love his smile, his giggle, and his baby lingo. He is such a sweet little guy. Although I am outnumbered I love my two men more than anything!

Some Recent Pictures

I love how Dylan's tongue is sticking out in this picture. He is so silly!

Yesterday I bought Dylan some new shorts. When we tried them on I couldn't help laughing. It looked like he was a baby thug. Looks like they'll be going back to the store!

These are some pictures from today. He is wearing some of the cute finds from the consignment sale I went to this morning. Somebody please help me convince Isaac that smocking on little boys is sweet and cute.

I'm it...

Kara tagged me!

But I'm changing the rules a little bit. Because everyone I know has already been sent this, I'll answer the ?'s and won't make anyone else have to do it.

What I was doing 10 years ago...
Ten years is a long time. That puts me at being only 14! I was in 8th grade at McConnel Middle School Having a blast. To this day I still say that 8th grade was my favorite year in school. I made wonderful friendships that year, had awesome teachers, and was finally able to go to church dances. It was a fun and happy time for me.

5 things on my "to-do" list today...
1. Go to a consignment sale. One of my new hobbies. Yes, It's consignment sale time. It is so exciting because it only happens twice a year for spring and fall. This will be my first stop at numerous sales. You can find kids clothes, toys, books, strollers, you name it. Go to thebargainwatcher.com to find a consignment sale near you!

2. Take Dylan in for his 9 month check up. It's that time of the year also! Dylan turns 9 months tomorrow. His appoinment isin the afternoon, but the best thing of all is... no shots! At 9 months there are no scheduled immunizations. I am so happy to have a break! I don't know who the immunizations are harder on, Dylan or me?

3. Laundry, and dishes. Just the typical everyday things. Dylan is out of clean pajamas so I have to do it today, no putting it off.

4. Pack! If I'm being really on top of things I'll move on to this next chore. I had three people ask me if I had started packing yesterday and I realized that maybe it was time to start! We can start moving thinds over on the 15th!

5. Enjoy spending time with Isaac and Dylan. These are my favorite things "to-do". I love my family so much! I am lucky to have such a wonderful husband and a sweet little boy!

3 of my bad habits:
1. I'm needy. I'll admit it. But is that so bad? I can't help it, I grew up in a large family and love attention.

2. I'm disorganized. That is one of my biggest challenges. I blame it on not having enough space. We'll see if being in a larger place helps at all.

3. I am a procrastinator. But aren't we all? I wish I had more discipline, but it's something I struggle with daily.

Places I've lived:
Nothing exciting here. Lawrenceville, Loganville, Athens, and Woodstock.

Things most people don't know about me:
I want to have a large family. Ideally 5 kids which is what I had growing up.

I don't have cable. I thought I could never live without it, but now enjoy the fact that I'm not addicted to any T.V. shows. We love watching movies though.

I have an obsession with researching products online (mostly baby). My sister Kara loves it because she gets the bennefits of the information. Everything I buy is meticulously planned!

I am not a great speller. It just so happens that my spell check isn't working, so please excuse me!
