The Mother Letter Project

This is such a sweet story... For a more detailed and complete version, visit here. So, in a nut shell a husband and wife decided that they are fed up with the materialism of Christmas and decide to not spend money on each other, and send as much money as possible in a humanitarian effort to a poor African village they visited this year. So, instead of buying each other Christmas presents this year, they are exchanging the best kind of gift, a creative and heartfelt gift (no $ required). So, this sweet husband is asking for letters of encouragement for his wife, a mother of young children. If you are interested, he has a blog devoted to this Christmas project where you can send your letter. The project from what I can tell is becoming such an incredible success, and he promises to share the letters (electronically) with everyone that sends him a letter once he has them all compiled.

What a great thing to be a part of, I just had to pass this along!

Thud- What was that???

Heres a funny story for you. This morning I was downstairs taking my time before I got Dylan out of his crib, and I heard a loud thud! That was an awfully loud kick I thought, let me go get him to make sure he's okay. Then to my utter shock, Dylan is playing out of his crib on the floor with his toys. Isaac and I have been really worried about this happening because Dylan is such a giant for his age, and Isaac's younger sister Emma climbed out of her crib and fell and broke her collar bone in the process. Ouch! Luckily, he made it out okay (he never cried or anything so I doubt he fell on his head like the picture up above) but now I face a bigger problem because this boy is nowhere near being ready for a toddler bed. So, for the time being I have turned his crib around (the back is taller than the front) as my temporary solution. What am I going to do with this crazy boy!

ELMA!

Dylan has become quite obsessed with Elmo lately. But instead of saying Elmo, he calls him Elma. He saw a picture of Elmo the other day and started giving him kisses. I debated giving him the new Elmo live toy for Christmas, but figured (after Mom and Isaac's persuasion -Thanks!) he would probably break it and would not be able to love on it because it is a mechanical toy. So, here's to Elmo, Dylan's new "thing".

Halloween

We had such a fun Halloween! We went to my sister, Cassidie's house. My parents were there, as well as Kara, Andrew, and Maddy, and Scott (of course). Cassidie made some yummy chili and cornbread. Then, we were off to go Trick-or-treating. It was kind of sad because for the first 6 or so houses (that were lit up and everything) no one would answer the door. We finally had success and even more success when we went to the top of their neighborhood. It was crazy how old some of the trick-or-treaters were. I could have sworn that some looked as old as me and Isaac. My favorite part was when we were walking down the sidewalk, and three guys were out trick-or-treating and were about to light up in front of us. My brother-in-law, Andrew told them to, "Have some class." They then asked, "What's that?" He replied "obviously you don't have any." Go Andrew! Crazy? Isn't it? I don't understand why they don't just go to the store and pay the whopping $2 for a bag of candy if they want some that bad!

Here's Dylan the lion. At first, he didn't want to keep his mane on, but as the night progressed, I think he like having it on because it helped to keep his head warm.

Maddy, a skunk, and Dylan rode around together in the wagon.

Yea! Candy! They kept on grabbing stuff from each others baskets. They were too cute! They also got loads of complements. As usual, Kara took way better pictures than me, so keep an eye on her blog for all of her cute pictures.
