Catch up

It's time that I get myself caught back up with my blogging and get myself current again. So here it goes...

Dylan's first haircut

After feeling a lot of pressure and some comments about Dylan being a girl I decided it was a good time to give him a haircut. Although I have an inner struggle because I think it would look so cute with with his blond hair and curls to have a shaggy haircut. But then on the other hand, the longer it gets the more it just poofs out. So, on a whim, I decided to cut it. Although I didn't cut it too short because I would die if it was too short that you couldn't see his curls. Anyhow here are some before and after pictures of my handsome little boy.

The before of the front...

...and the back!

In the middle of the cut. It was so hard to keep Dylan still! This boy hates to be stuck in the same place for too long!

Hooray! We made it through!

My cousin's wedding

The same day that I had gone to see my Grandma in Peachtree City, we also went to my cousin Krista's wedding. It was so beautiful and nice. The funniest part for me was that I couldn't keep him Dylan of the dance floor. That boy has got some rhythm! We didn't take many pictures but I thought that this one was worth sharing.

Dylan getting into all sorts of things

One of my favorite pictures of my brother when he was a kid was when he had climbed into the dryer and had his head poking out of the door. I don't think it surprised me much to see Dylan follow in his Uncle's footsteps. Here are some funny pictures of him being caught in the act of being a curious toddler.

This picture isn't nearly as cute as the one taken of my brother, but I think it is so funny! Once he climbs in there he hates being taken out! He also loves to start and turn off the washer and dryer.

This one is him in his baby bath tub that he found in the closet!

Here he is so proud of himself because he found my spray bottle from work out of my bag and figured out how to work it (as you can tell from his wet t-shirt!).

Our 4th of July

For the fourth I got to experience my first ever (that I can remember) parade! It was so much fun!!! It was so cool that we live so close to downtown Woodstock that we were in walking distance. After the parade we went to my parent's house for our traditional celebration of hanging out by the pool and a feast to be compared with that of Thanksgiving except with the typical foods you have when you grill out. Everything was so yummy!

Pictures from my first parade! The Shriner's in these little cars were driving like maniacs! I am surprised no one got hit by them!

Here's Dylan looking very patriotic holding a flag we got at the parade.

Stone Mountain Park- Laser Show

Lastly here our some pictures that were taken from last week when we went to the Laser show with my family.

Mommy and Dylan. Isaac was out of town so he's not in these pictures :(

Dylan's cool toy that I got him that lights up all sorts of flashing colors.

Here I am admiring my little boy as he runs away yet again to explore this new experience.

I was surprised that once the Laser show started he sat in my lap the whole time! He just watched curiously and didn't even flinch when the fireworks went off. Way to go!

One year pictures

Kara took these pictures for me for Dylan's one year shots (she took more than the ones here, these are just my favorites). I was so impressed how these turned out. She is in the process of building a portfolio and starting to do this professionally. Great job Kara!

Over the River and Through the Woods to Grandmother's House We Go

Several weeks ago we went up to Peachtree City and got to visit my Grandma Cutchshaw (my Mother's Mom). It was the first time that Dylan got to meet her so that made it kind of special. She seemed so excited to have us over and we were excited to be there as well. It was fun to visit and catch up with her. I definitely want to visit her on a more frequent basis. Here are some of our pictures with her. Unfortunately, Isaac was the one taking all of the pictures, so there aren't any of him.

Yummy Pie

Sorry everyone for not updating my blog for awhile. But I feel like I have a pretty good excuse. Our two year old canon S2 IS decided to break on us. We haven't decided what we want to do as there are several options to choose from. We could have them fix it for a mere $125, we could send it in and they'll upgrade us to the S3 IS for $150, or we could spend another $300 and get the newest edition to the S series and get the S5 IS, or we could look into getting a new and different type of camera all together. The good news is that for the mean time Kara and Andrew are letting us borrow one of their old cameras.

But enough for the excuses. The real reason for this post is to share the recipe for this yummy pie that I made for the 4th of July.Easy Kisses and Peanut Butter Cup Pie

Ingredient's

32 Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Miniatures, unwrapped and chopped

5 1/4 cups (12 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed and divided

2 Tbs. Reese's Creamy Peanut Butter

1 prepared graham cracker crumb crust

51 Hershey's Kisses, unwrapped and divided

Directions

1. Combine chopped peanut butter cups, 2cups whipped topping, half of chopped Reese's peanut butter cups, and creamy peanut butter in large bowl. Spread onto bottom of crumb crust.

2. Place 51 Hershey's Kisses in microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on High for 1 minute; stir. If necessary microwave at an additional 15 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating, until chocolate is melted and smooth when stirred. Stir in 2 cups of whipped topping; spread on top of peanut butter layer. Cover; refrigerate until firm.

3. Spread remaining 1 1/4 cups whipped topping on top of pie. Sprinkle with remaining chopped Reese's peanut butter cups. Cut into slices and serve immediately; refrigerate leftovers.

Recipe and picture found in The Basic Cooking Bible, although I altered it a little bit in the process. Enjoy!

Our Father's Day Celebration

Since last year I felt like I didn't do too great of a job at making Father's Day special for Isaac (I blame it all on being somewhat postpartum), I decided that this year I would try to do better. I got up early and made him his favorite breakfast, homemade hash browns, eggs, sausage, toast, and orange juice. I was going to give it to him in bed, but just as I was finishing he had woke up and was already downstairs. I gave him a candy gram as part of his present, which he loved. He had never seen one before and thought that I had made it up! We finished the day with his favorite dinner, bow tie chicken pasta. I gave him his last present on Tuesday when I gave him the new Cold Play CD (which we thought was somewhat of a letdown compared to their other albums).

Anyways, I just wanted to let Isaac know that I think that he is such a great Dad. I appreciate all of his help. I love watching him play with Dylan. It's so funny to hear all of the laughter that erupts when they play together. That was something that attracted me to Isaac when we were dating. He was so sweet with our nephews and I knew that he would be such a great Dad. I was definitely right!

Swimming

I took these cute pictures the other day of Dylan in his inflatable pool. He had so much fun playing with his bath toys and hanging out in the water. We went swimming at my parent's house yesterday, but I forgot to bring my camera. I'll make sure to bring it next time we head over. I wish I could go everyday but gas is way too expensive to do that. It's crazy that it costs over $10 to go visit my family. Lucky for me, my parents gave me gas money this past time in exchange for haircuts. That works in my book!

Taking a break to give me a smile.

Splashing around!

Giving me a high five.

I thought that this was such a cute silhouette. I have no idea what he was staring at, but I was happy to get a shot of his side profile.

Photo Montages

My friend Vanessa has started up a business putting pictures into a video presentation. She put together a beautiful video of our wedding. You can check it out here. I am so excited about it. If you would like to have one of these done for you or no of someone who may, I would highly recommend her. Look at her other videos on the site, they are all so good!
