And I quote myself...
"I am 33 weeks now and life is so much more favorable than in my third trimester with Dylan. I am not swollen, at least not yet, I don't have that crazy sciatic nerve problem, and no PUPS (which is a very unpleasant rash that can occur during pregnancy). So, in comparison, life is great. Hopefully I won't have to eat my words later on!"
How ironic is life that the very next week who got the horrible pregnancy rash, which is actually spelled PUPPPS? You guessed it. Out of all of the things that I listed I thought that there was no way I would end up with that again. I woke up last Monday morning and started to have a panic attack when I looked at my itchy stomach and recognized it right away. PUPPPS is so rare that it only happens in 1 out of 250 pregnancies. I think the odds of getting it more than once are even greater. But, the good news is that I decided to try ro treat it with some herbs that other people had said helped their rash clear up completely. Isaac and I were hesitant for me to try them just because we wanted to make sure that they were safe. But after doing some research, we decided that they seemed safe enough. So, I gave it a try and 5-6 days later, my rash has disappeared. I am so ecstatic!
I am now back to feeling like life is great again. I went in today for my 35 week check up and everything is looking good. I was nervous that Owen might have turned because he was doing some pretty crazy gymnastics the other day. But when I asked the Dr. she felt around and told me that he was still head down AND she said judging by his head he seemed like he wasn't that big. She also told me I was dialated 1 cm. and that since I was fully dialated with Dylan that my body would treat this as a second birth even though Dylan ended up being a C-section. So, all in all I was pretty excited about my appointment.
Tomorrow, by calendar, I am exactly a month from my due date. I am so excited that it won't be long before I get to lay eyes on my precious little boy.

Happy 4th of July!
I have been looking forward to celebrating the 4th for several weeks now, so when it finally came, I was so excited. I am so thankful for the freedoms that we are able to enjoy and for those who have and continue to protect our liberty.
We kicked off our day by going to the parade that they do in the downtown section of the city where we live. One of the greatest thrills as a parent is to see your child experience things and to watch the excitement in their eyes. Dylan has been to a couple of parades before but I don't think that he remembers them, so, it was like getting to do it all over again for the first time. One of his favorite things was the flag that someone gave him. He would wave it around and say, "Happy 4th of July!".

Dylan is all smiles as we waited for the parade to begin.

And very excited!
Dylan LOVES his flag! This video was taken at the end of the parade.
After the parade, we headed over to my parents house to grill out and go swimming. We had so much fun swimming. One of the best parts was playing water volleyball with the net that my brother-in-law, Scott brought. Nothing gets me hungry like a day of swimming and there was yummy food a plenty.

The fearless Dylan, so long as he has his floats on!

He's swimming!

My cute niece Cammy is happy to watch after she had her fun in the pool. I LOVE her red hair!
Then when we got back we were able to catch the fireworks display that they do for our city as well. Dylan liked the fireworks and would point and say, "FIREWORKS!". At the end when they did the grand finale, I am not sure if he knew quite what to think of it.

By the time we got home, he was so exhausted I think he was happy to go to bed. We had so much fun to hang out as a family, and I am already excited for next year when we can celebrate with Owen.

Summer, summer, summer
I apologize for being in a blogging drought lately. Part of the problem is that I just haven't been too great about taking pictures lately. But don't you worry, I am sure that will change when Owen comes.
Mostly this summer we have just been taking it easy. Dylan and I go to the pool just about everyday Mon. - Fri. just to try to cool off. I am so proud of how much Dylan has improved with being in the water. The first time we went, he clung to me for dear life and whined a lot but now he is fine to just bob around in the water with his floaties all by himself. He's a little nervous to jump off the edge of the pool but loves it when I throw him up in the air and catch him. Hopefully sometime this coming week I can get some pictures of him in the pool.
I am getting so excited for Owen to come. I am 33 weeks now and life is so much more favorable than in my third trimester with Dylan. Hopefully I won't have to eat my words later on! Also, I have had a couple of people tell me that I don't look that big in comparison to other women they know that are due close to my due date. I don't think I've ever had anybody say anthing like that to me before and I was so excited to tell Isaac that not everybody thinks that I am huge!
I have my C-section scheduled for the 21st of August at 5:00 PM which is six days after my due date. But I hope and pray that I won't have to make that appointment. I am trying to give myself as much time as possible in hopes that I can go into labor on my own and try for my VBAC. I am terrified that I am going to be late and have another huge baby. But, after you have a C they won't allow you to be induced in order to go early because you have a greater risk of your uterus rupturing. I feel like I have so many strikes against my last shot at a natural birth but I guess I just need to let go of the fact that I can't control what happens. I am so fortunate to have Dylan and Owen that I have no room to complain. At my last appointment the midwife told me that Owen was measuring right on target. They do say that every pregnancy is different, so maybe I'll take myself by surprise by going into labor early and having a smaller baby.
I feel bad that I don't really have pictures for this post, but way back when I put this picture up of Dylan hanging out in the dryer.

Well, the other day he was up to his old ways and I caught this funny video. I think it took him by surprise when the dyer started moving with him inside it!

Berries, toilets, and no, I don't have only a couple more weeks to go!
Berries
This past week I took Dylan to pick strawberries. My Dad and Katelyn came with us. I've decided that picking strawberries with a two year old child whose favorite fruit is strawberries can be a little hectic. Here's a rundown of how this all played out. "No Dylan, don't pick that strawberry, that one is green, it is not ripe." "Come here Dylan." "No Dylan, don't swallow the stem you are not supposed to eat that part." All the while trying to fill my gallon bucket. But with all that said, I still had a good time and would love to do it again next year. Although, I may be a mean Mommy and see if I can get someone to watch the kids next time (I don't think my sanity could handle doing this with two little kids).

Rows and rows of the sweetest strawberries.

Dylan with a strawberry leaf under his eye. I also loved how Katelyn kept on reminding me not to pick the green ones and to only pick the ones that were really red.

While my Dad and I were going to pay for our berries, Katelyn, the informer, tells us that Dylan had climbed up into the very tall tractor. Yikes!!!

I was so embarrassed when we were done because it was quite obvious that Dylan had enjoyed plenty of strawberries while we were picking. You can see a little bit of the juice all over his face. I was also happy that I had just bought a Clorox bleach pen for the many stains all over the front of his white shirt (what was I thinking putting him in that).

The fruits of my labors.

What do you do with a whole lot of strawberries? Make some super easy freezer jam that tastes absolutely incredible. By the way, I found this awesome site with a simple how to on it if any first-timers may be interested.
Toilets
I have decided that when your sister says, "Hurry, Kayleen grab your camera", it doesn't always mean that your child is being adorably sweet and good. I had already patted myself on the back that Dylan had never played in the toilet. I thought that I was so on top of it. Furthermore, he hadn't been showing any interest in messing around with it, so I thought that I had passed that stage. Boy how I was wrong!!! By the way, thanks again to Kara for helping me unstop the toilet while I scrubbed away at Dylan's hands.
No, I don't have only a couple more weeks to go!
Yikes! Today at church this man figured that with my size I only had a few more weeks left before I was due. I tried to save him and tell him that I had like three more months but the damage was done before he heard me I guess. This happened to me all the time when I was pregnant with Dylan. Some of my favorites were, "When were you do, yesterday?", "You're HUGE!", and probably one of my favorites was the stranger in Walmart that asked, "Oh, are you having twins?". Oh well! I've decided that people carry babies differently and I don't know if it has to do with the baby's gender or what, but I just seem to carry babies almost to the point where they are like out of my body.
But the good news is that I just reached 27 weeks which means that I am now in my third trimester. That makes 13 more weeks to go.
The other bit of good news is, dare I say, we've agreed on a name. I think that I bother Isaac to death on names until he finally gives in to my demands. But I love having the name because it makes me feel so much more connected to the baby growing inside me and it helps me feel so much more attached to him. So, here's to baby Owen (we're working on the middle name still). We can't (but we can, if you know what I mean) wait to meet you!

By the way, the camera must have been loving me because they don't do the belly justice. These make it look much smaller.

Happy Birthday to Dylan
Wow! I can't believe that Dylan is already 2 years old! His birthday was on Saturday and this picture was taken of him 2 years ago on the day that he was born. I can't believe how much a difference two years makes. He is such a joy to us and he makes us smile and laugh daily.
This year we decided not to throw him a party but instead as a family we did a birthday celebration. Our theme this year was teddy bears, since he loves his Teddy and sleeps with him at night. I made Dylan a bear cake which considering this is my second attempt at decorating a cake, I was pretty proud of it.
For his birthday present he got a tricycle that flips into a big wheel. He also got a helmet that I think he likes just about as much as the tricycle. Excuse the bare chest, he had fallen asleep for his nap like that.
He drags it around and does not quite grasp the idea of using his feet to push the pedals. Although in his defense he can barely reach them.
Next we went to Build-a-Bear for Dylan's first time. He loved his teddy and kept on giving him kisses.
After we filled his teddy and he was sewn up, we gave him a bath.
Then we made him a birth certificate. We are so original, we named him Ted E. Bear but he shares Dylan's birthday so that was pretty cool.
Next we went to pick up his birth certificate and pay for him. We didn't get him (meaning his teddy) any clothes since the boy clothes just aren't as cute as the stuff that they have for girls.
Then we had some pizza at Chuck E. Cheese's (another first).
Then what is a trip to Chuck E. Cheese's without getting to play.
Then this is my favorite because I have always been one to quote movies and the other day I heard Dylan doing Skeeter's ring tone from Bedtime Stories. I included the clip from the movie so you can compare the two.
