Like mother, like son

I haven't taken any new pictures in a while because I left my camera at my parents house a few weeks ago. But I was going through some old pictures on the computer of me as a kid that made me think, wow, Mommy and Dylan are just alike.

Exhibit A: Mommy and Dylan unzip their sleepers to about the same spot as shown here.

Next we have the fact that Mommy and Dylan was/is kind of obsessed with Sesame Street. I with Big Bird, Dylan with Elmo.

Mommy and Dylan have a broom fetish!

Lastly, Mommy and Dylan can't seem to keep their hands out of their mouth. Hopefully this one will get better when the four teeth that are coming in for Dylan cut through!

It's a...

BABY!!!

I apologize for not keeping my blog up to date lately. To tell you the truth, nothing much has been going on except for trying to handle the 1st trimester of pregnancy. I went to have a sonogram last week and they told me that it looks like my due date is August 12. I am not quite sure where that puts me week wise, I guess somewhere around 11 or 12 weeks.

It is so weird how true it is that every pregnancy is different (I hope this gives hope to those who have had a horrible time with morning sickness). When I was pregnant with Dylan I started feeling sick around 7 weeks and it didn't let up until I was at the end of my second trimester. One night I almost had Isaac take me to the hospital because I had thrown up 10 times that day and couldn't even keep down water. This go round I haven't been nearly as sick and it started a lot later than before. I just hope it ends a lot sooner too!

Other than that, everything has been going pretty well. I think Dylan is clueless that we're having a baby. I just don't think he understands quite yet. Hopefully I won't have to eat my words when I say this, but, I really don't think that he'll be jealous when the baby is here. He's so independent and doesn't seem to pay any attention to baby Cammie (his new cousin). I guess only time will tell.

So late... Christamas 08

I am so behind with my blogging! But, I figure better late than never. I had a video that I wanted to post, but I was having a hard time shrinking it to a good size. After much frustration, I figured it out! We spent Christmas Eve with my family (no pictures because once again I forgot my camera), Christmas morning at our place, then the rest of the day with Isaac's family. We had a good time and enjoyed being with our family.

Anyhow, here is my cute Christmas morning video of Dylan. It was so funny because for like 15 seconds he was just staring at the camera and didn't realize the toys that were in the same room.

Dylan in his new car!

Playing around on Christmas. He was so wound up that he refused to take a nap all day long. That's the first time he's ever done that! He was definitely worn out by the end of the day!

Talking up a storm!

Hallelujah! Isaac and I finally got a new camera. I wanted to share this cute video of some of the sounds he has been saying. He is really good with sounds, and is picking up new words left and right. One of my new favorites is, none (one), two. He just randomly started saying this the other day. Today I was trying to teach him how to answer the question, "How old are you?" I would tell him the answer (one), and then he would say,"two." It was kind of funny.

Cammie Jane

I wanted to show off my adorable niece and her proud parents. I stole this picture from Kara's blog (I am a horrible aunt, and forgot my camera both times I've been able to see her)! She was born at 1:48 AM Thanksgiving morning weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. and was 18 in. long. Wednesday was my birthday and I could hardly concentrate during dinner because I didn't want to miss any of the excitement with Cassidie ( she was having some crazy contractions that day and they kept getting closer and stronger). After Isaac and I put Dylan to bed we settled down to watch a movie together, not long after we put the movie in, my Mom called to tell me that they broke her water! Cassidie was such a trooper through the hole experience. When everything was said and done, I didn't get home until 4:00 Am! Anyhow, congratulations Cassidie and Scott on your adorable baby girl!

The Mother Letter Project

This is such a sweet story... For a more detailed and complete version, visit here. So, in a nut shell a husband and wife decided that they are fed up with the materialism of Christmas and decide to not spend money on each other, and send as much money as possible in a humanitarian effort to a poor African village they visited this year. So, instead of buying each other Christmas presents this year, they are exchanging the best kind of gift, a creative and heartfelt gift (no $ required). So, this sweet husband is asking for letters of encouragement for his wife, a mother of young children. If you are interested, he has a blog devoted to this Christmas project where you can send your letter. The project from what I can tell is becoming such an incredible success, and he promises to share the letters (electronically) with everyone that sends him a letter once he has them all compiled.

What a great thing to be a part of, I just had to pass this along!

Thud- What was that???

Heres a funny story for you. This morning I was downstairs taking my time before I got Dylan out of his crib, and I heard a loud thud! That was an awfully loud kick I thought, let me go get him to make sure he's okay. Then to my utter shock, Dylan is playing out of his crib on the floor with his toys. Isaac and I have been really worried about this happening because Dylan is such a giant for his age, and Isaac's younger sister Emma climbed out of her crib and fell and broke her collar bone in the process. Ouch! Luckily, he made it out okay (he never cried or anything so I doubt he fell on his head like the picture up above) but now I face a bigger problem because this boy is nowhere near being ready for a toddler bed. So, for the time being I have turned his crib around (the back is taller than the front) as my temporary solution. What am I going to do with this crazy boy!
